Use the first calculator when you know a start and end time and want the duration between them. It supports overnight periods, so a start time of 10:00 PM and an end time of 6:00 AM is treated as an eight-hour span rather than a negative number. You can also subtract an unpaid break to get paid working time and see the same duration expressed as decimal hours. That makes the result easy to reuse on a time card or pay calculation.
The second calculator works in the opposite direction: start with a clock time, then add or subtract a number of hours and minutes. It automatically wraps across midnight. This is useful for estimating an end time from a scheduled shift length, finding a return time after a break, or working backward from a deadline without manually converting the clock to minutes.
Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the elapsed-time calculator treats the end as occurring the next day.
Yes. Enter unpaid break minutes and they are removed from elapsed time.
